My USB-flash drive with ESXi 6.5 onboard was failed.<\/p>\n<p>The host was working but couldn&#8217;t save any changes in the configuration and etc.<\/p>\n<p>I connected to the host with PowerCLI and saved the configuration into a file:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Get-VMHostFirmware -VMHost myESXi -BackupConfiguration -DestinationPath d:\\backup<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then I built a new USB-flash disk with fresh ESXi 6.5 installed, booted to it on another PC and restored the configuration to it with PowerCLI:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Set-VMHost -VMHost tempESXi -state maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Set-VMHostFirmware -VMHost tempESXi -Restore -SourcePath d:\\backup\\configBundle-myESXi -Force<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The temporary host restarted, I shutdown it and removed the USB-flash.<\/p>\n<p>Then I inserted the new USB-drive into my ESXi host, entered into maintenance mode and reboot it.<\/p>\n<p>All my settings were OK and the host worked fine.<\/p>\n<p>links: <a href=\"https:\/\/communities.vmware.com\/docs\/DOC-15204\">https:\/\/communities.vmware.com\/docs\/DOC-15204<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ooops.
