Linux + Zoneminder VS Windows + Videonet
Just some notices about the headline.
I tried both systems and there are my results and thoughts.
So, in the beginning I installed Ubuntu 12-14 and Zoneminder + BT867 compatible card.
There were 8 cams and I configured motion detection for 2 cams and festival to announce the weather. I had only 0.5 fps for every cam and the delay for announcements was about 1-2 min. When I got another MySQL crash I decided to change the card to TitanVN8Pro but couldn’t find drivers for it in Linux. So, I installed Windows XP and Videonet.
I got 25 fps for cams and 40% CPU loading. For voice announcing I found Govorilka (free) and for parsing sites I used Python 2.7 for Windows. The delay for announcements was 1-5 sec.
