Exchange 2010 + Recreating an account + Undeliverable message
Users complained about “undeliverable message” after recreating an account for the some users. It causes old autocomplete cache on user’s PCs.
The Fix from http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/174356-exchange-2010-user-mailbox-recreated:
1. Go into a users machine who has the nk2 cached and open their outlook
2. Create a new mail message and start typing the restored mailbox SMTP address into the to field, the autocomplete record should appear
3. Select the autocomplete to place the object from the nk2 file into the to field
4. Open the outlook properties of the object and you should find that the only field populated will be the display field which should contain the ad path to the old user object. Make a note of this path.
5. Open exchange management console and find the restored user mailbox
6. Add an x500 address to the account and place in it the ad path you took a note of in step 4
7. Wait for or force ad replication.
users should now be able to send mail to the user successfully from the old nk2 record.
